Laguna Hills Zumba Instructors

Walking into week three of finding the best Zumba instructor in Orange County, I found myself anxious due to the events that took place a week prior at another location.

As I walked into the 24-hour-fitness gym in Laguna Hills, the music was blasting with the bass down low. The room was crowed with a majority of women & a hand full of men.

My heartbeat began to rise as the music sank into my veins.

Instructor Wendy entered the room and was dressed in bright purple (an invigorating color which stimulates the mind,) full of energy and spunk.
Dancing the mamba and shaking our hips, we engaged in a fast pace warm up which got our hearts pumping and blood flow flowing. Engaging in different intervals, Wendy kept the class moving as many songs filled the speakers of the mirrored room.

Dancing 60 minutes to Latin based music, each student lost an average of 500 calories. Dripping sweat from head to toe, the overall workout was fulfilling, leaving me with a sense of accomplishment.

Wendy's style of teaching was fun & energetic. On a scale of 1-10, she receives a solid 8. I would definitely recommend  her to those of you looking to have fun and experience a great work out.

P.s. Although Wendy was great, Leticia from the Spectrum location still has my number one vote! :)

So as week three's reviews conclude, get out there & Zumba your butt off . Dance, relieve stress & have fun!!! You deserve it!

Zumba Class Gone Wrong

This week's expedition towards finding Orange County's best Zumba instructor was quite interesting. Sadly, after partaking in three different classes, I found that all three instructors stunk!

Their way of teaching the class lacked energy and encouragement.

Finding myself quite bored and unentertained, I was shocked at the fact of my very unusual and weird experiences.

As Zumba is normally 100% pure fun with great physical benefits, I unfortunately was really upset with the experiences I had at the Ocean Ranch 24-hour-fitness.

Not wanting to call anybody out particularly on their bad skills and techniques, I've decided to cut this weeks expeiences from the "competition" towards OC's best Zumba instructor.

Stay tuned for next week's update....

Irvine Spectrum 24-Hour Fitness Zumba Instructor

24 Hour Fitness LogoThis past week, I began my journey to finding Orange County's best Zumba instructor.

Kicking off my mission at the 24-Hour Fitness at the Irvine Spectrum, in Irvine, Calif., I attended four different classes and experienced the different tecniques and styles all four inststructors had to offer.

As week one of finding the best Zumba instructor in Orange County came to an end, Zumba instructor, Leticia wins my vote. Leticia was by far the most energetic and motivational instructor.

Her style of teaching was fun, and physically challenging as well.

Taught on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Leticia showed up to class dressed head to toe in lime green (the adopted colors of the Zumba logo.)

She pumped up the class by jumping around the room, while throwing out motivational slurs to get us ready for that nights workout.

Over 50 people crowed the room as we did five minutes of warm-ups. Loosening up our muscles, we salsa'ed our way through warm-up's.

Quickly leading into an intense work out routine, we danced to about six songs. Incorporating bachata, salsa, mambo and a quick two-step, I  quickly became exhausted.

Stomping my feet and shaking my hips, sweat began to flow from the pores of my forehead. I began to feel weak as my  body was being pushed to it's limit. Laughing at some of the silly moves, I couldn't help but attract the instructors attention.

Focusing her efforts on trying to help me "get the moves down," Leticia went from teaching a classroom full of people, to focusing on me (that was embarrassing.)

As Zumba class came to an end, I was refreshed and revitalized. Although it's always a hard workout, I left with a great sense of peace and accomplishment.

I highly recommend Leticia. Attend her class to see how great she really is.

The Search for Orange County's Best Zumba Instructor

As you embark upon your journey towards getting fit through the styles and techniques of Zumba, it's important to find an instructor who will not only motivate you towards getting in shape, but who will encourage you to have fun while burning those unwanted calories we all desire to rid our bodies of.

When engaging in the upbeat fitness strategies the Latin form of exercise has to offer, there are many things to consider when seeking out an instructor who keeps you going back.

Some of the factors I've discovered throughout my experiences about instructor preferences is their level of energy, song choice, and how their class makes me feel after working my butt off after fully engaging in 60 minutes of intense cardio

ENERGY. MUSIC. OUTCOMES

Energy: The level of  energy an instructor gives off is extremely important. When setting the mood and tone of the class, the instructors level of energy (or lack of,) affects whether or not a good workout is accomplished.  If the teacher is upbeat and positive, it will affect not only the level of physical endurance gained, but it will affect the level of mental stimulation your mind will acquire during that particular session.

Music: Music in a Zumba class has the potential to be the sole reason you return to a specific instructor. The songs have to flow with the movements, be current, and really allow you to get "lost" in the beat. The choice of music an instructor uses in a class often times reflects the level of intensity they expect of you. The faster the beat, the more intervals you will accomplish, making the workout more physically challenging, allowing you to feel more satisfied with that days workout. A slower beat, means engaging in less intervals. Reflecting an easier, less challenging approach, instructors often times only use slow songs in the "cool down"process  of the workout.

Outcomes/Results: The outcome and results of any Zumba workout reflects whether or not your instructors routines are actually working for you. Do you feel refreshed, in shape & happy about your inner state of mind and physical appearance? After partaking in a Zumba class, you should be left feeling all of those things. A good instructor is the core foundation you need to accomplish feelings of positivity and success.

During the next few weeks, I will be rating instructors across Orange County with hope to find the best of the best. I will be sharing with you my secrets towards gaining a healthier lifestyle through the invigorating and fun workout Zumba presents us with.
